Originally from the United Kingdom, I worked with the British Military for seven years specialising in HUMINT, Red Teaming and Counter Intelligence. When I left the military, I started working in the private sector for Facebook as part of the EMEA SOC Management Team, before moving to Australia in early 2019. Since arriving here, I’ve worked with The Missing Link as both a Security Architect and now as the SOC Manager.
As SOC manager, I’m responsible for leading our team of security analysts and engineers in providing 24 x 7 x 365 proactive and reactive security services to our clients.
Establishing ourselves as trusted security advisors to our managed service clients is a massive privilege. We do this through collaboration, technical knowledge and automation, which is hugely exciting in itself.
With my professional background in mind, it probably won’t surprise you to know that my favourite quote is, Manui Dat Cognitio Vires - the Latin motto of the Intelligence Corps which translates as Knowledge Gives Strength to the Arm.
Outside of work, I love getting involved in any sport I can get my hands on. Cricket, rugby (union), soccer whatever it is, I'll watch it or play it if I can. I have to admit too, that I’m slowly being lured into DIY because of Bunnings’ excellent, persistent marketing team… I’ve completed a couple of pallet projects over 2020 and I can’t walk past a council clean up with having a quick look!
