Biggest-morning-tea.jpgWe take company culture seriously at The Missing Link, one way to foster a great team environment is to help others who need it the most. Building team rapport by supporting a common cause is one of the ways we all enjoy to help out.

As part of our culture program the management team provide us monthly BBQ’s. One Friday each month staff are treated to a BBQ lunch, this year they’ve also added themed BBQ days to the usual sausage, salad and steak affair. Staff are asked to make a donation and are asked to nominate charities to donate to.

This year our Monthly BBQ’s have supported the following charities:

Compassion Australia

Beyond Blue

Red Nose

Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia

Exodus Foundation

Indigenous Literacy Foundation

The A21 Campaign

Variety – The Children’s Charity

Youth Off the Streets

Alzheimer Australia Inc.

The Smith Family

The Kid’s Cancer Project

A Wish for Emily

Cancer Council NSW

In addition to our monthly BBQ’s we also have staff who are always looking for ways to give back. Late last year a group of staff organised a collection for Share the Dignity’s #itsinthebag Campaign. Each year around Christmas time Share The Dignity look for donations of pre-loved handbags stocked full of toiletry and sanitary items they provide to women who are homeless, have fled domestic violence or are living in temporary accommodation. Staff have further supported Share the Dignity by purchasing raffle tickets in their #pinkbox Dignity Vending Machines campaign.

Minimising our Social & Environmental Impact

We have also looked for ways to minimise our social and environmental impact. This year we have continued supporting the Thank You social enterprise with Thank You water in our Boardroom and Thank You hand soap in our bathrooms. Our bathrooms were also updated with Pure Planet toilet paper, the paper is tree-free and plastic-free, it’s 100% made from renewable and recycled bamboo and sugarcane waste.

We look forward to supporting even more charities in the next Financial Year.
