The Work Stuff

Growing up, I did not have a clear dream job; however, as I got older, my passion for technology grew, and it became a lot clearer that I belonged in the IT industry. My first paid job was as an Associate Software Engineer in a leading global consulting company. Since then, my career progression has stayed the same (developer > reviewer > designer) as I moved from one technology to another.

If I am honest, I was hesitant to join The Missing Link at first; however, the recruiter convinced me to grab a coffee with Lee Booy, our Chief Technical Officer, and as they say, the rest was history. One of the biggest influences behind joining The Missing Link team was the growth opportunity and the chance to learn from the excellent leadership team – especially Lee.

My role at The Missing Link is of an Automation Engineer for our Robotic Process Automation (RPA) division. What I love most about my role is being able to help people focus more on tasks where they can be creative, while leaving the mundane and repetitive tasks to the bots. Reusability and scalability are always on my mind, as I am looking for innovative ways to make business processes easier.

My passion is automation, if you couldn’t tell already 😋 within the next few years, I hope to widen my technical expertise not only with RPA but towards Intelligent Automation (IA) and want to influence those around me towards an automation mindset!

When I think of inspirational people, Mark Cuban would be one of them, his mindset, dedication and work-ethic towards achieving his goals is highly motivating.

The Tech Stuff

I am not sure that I am on the tech-freak level, but I have a passion for technology. I am always keeping up to date with the latest trends and devices through articles and videos that I come across.

I enjoy watching tech reviews, especially If I am planning to buy a new gadget. I tend to overkill on the research to make sure I am getting the best value for money.

My favourite (and most used) gadget would definitely be my phone. Smartphones have come a long way, and their functionality is endless. A lot of my screen time is spent on social media apps and YouTube, as I am regularly communicating with my friends and family around the world and catching up on tech reviews and NBA highlights.

The Fun Stuff

I grew up in the Philippines, most famously known for its beaches and warm water (definitely warmer than the beaches in Sydney 😰). Growing up, I loved anything to do with video games, basketball, and music. I moved to Australia in 2017 and have spent the remainder of my time in Sydney.

Aside from automation, my interests now include watching movies and tv shows, playing video games, listening to music and watching basketball. One of my most recent hobbies is photography and videography; I am always taking my camera to events 🎥 Night and portrait shots would have to be my favourite type of photography to capture.

On the weekends, I can be usually be found doing the typical activities that parents do; driving my kids to sports activities and running errands. I also enjoy spending time with friends and getting outdoors to let my kids run wild.  Nowadays, I have so many things to do and learn, with so little (free) time. So, if money was not an issue, my dream day would be relaxing and catching up on all the things I never get around to (especially going through all my photography) or soaking up the sun on a beach in the Philippines!DSC00353-2
