On Thursday, 29 November we celebrated 2018 with an amazing group of clients at one of the most beautiful venues in Sydney, the Museum of Contemporary Art.

The warm weather, combined with the breathtaking harbour and iconic bridge as a backdrop, set the mood for an evening of good food, wine, music and fun. The bubbles and beers were cold, the conversation flowed, and the Mexican themed food station went down a treat.

Our CEO, Alex Gambotto, took to the microphone to thank all of our amazing clients for another wonderful year – without you, we wouldn’t be the company we are today and we enjoyed the opportunity to let our hair down with each and every one of you to celebrate the hard work that we have all put in this year across the ever changing industry that is IT. Your support and belief in us means everything.

He also acknowledged that this fantastic event could not have happened without the following vendors:

21 years of The Missing Link

We’re in a particularly celebratory mood at the moment as it is The Missing Link’s 21st birthday. Who would have thought that a couple of guys fresh out of high school would go on to create a legacy like The Missing Link, employing more than 100 people across locations in Sydney and Melbourne.

We all knew they were onto something special early on, and it seems the industry agreed. The Missing Link has grown exponentially over the last two decades and we hope to continue to expand and always provide our clients with service that is second to none.

The leadership team at The Missing Link are best in class and the support we have all received from them, along with our clients, competitors and the channel over the years make it a fantastic place to work.

A year of highlights and accolades

One of the highlights of 2018 was the opening of our new Security Operations Centre (SOC) in Sydney back in April. The state-of-the-art centre provides 24/7/365 threat intelligence for our clients, which is vital with threats becoming increasingly sophisticated and wide-spread. Given the success of our SOC, we’re looking forward to opening a smaller scale centre at our Melbourne office in the future.

We’ve also been the recipient of a number of awards that mean the world to us. Recognition makes what we do so worthwhile. Some of our 2018 accolades include:

  • AFR Fast 100: The Missing Link ranked 7th on the Australian Financial Review's Fast 100 list, a list of the fastest growing companies of all types across the country, measured by average financial growth across 3 years.
  • CRN Fast 50: We placed 24th on the Channel Reseller News' Fast 50 list, for our top line growth performance in the last financial year. This is the 3rd time that The Missing Link has made it onto this coveted list.
  • ARN ICT Industry Awards 2018: We won Channel Choice Partner (decided by a vote from all ICT channel companies nationally) and an absolute highlight was our very own CEO, Alex Gambotto, being inducted into the Hall of Fame. Alex became the 40th recipient to be inducted since its beginnings in 2007, an honour reserved as one of the highest levels of recognition in the Australian ICT industry.

Thank you again to all of you for a wonderful 2018 and we can’t wait to work with you again in 2019. We wish you all a joyful and safe festive season!
