Global Food Equipment (GFE) originally approached The Missing Link for technical guidance on the selection of a new core business application, and perhaps a wider review of our networks.
As a result of these two projects, The Missing Link was selected to design, source, and implement the new core network that has now centralised all critical business applications within our head office at Seven Hills. This has allowed us to reduce the amount of infrastructure distributed throughout our regional branch office locations in Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, and New Zealand.
The Missing Link also completed a review of interoffice data communication and Internet access as part of the project. We quickly saw the benefit in linking our major state offices via a private IP network, designed by The Missing Link and powered by Cisco and the OPTUS OPI Network. Our Internet access has now been simplified into a single link, which is managed and monitored from head office. The Missing Link implemented this solution and continues to maintain and monitor the critical routing systems and Cisco PIX intrusion prevention hardware.

Global Food Equipment’s growth plan involves both organic growth and business acquisition. The Missing Link has been playing a critical role as our technical adviser and service partner during these acquisitions, providing valuable support to our internal IT resources. They have played a key role in the trouble-free consolidation and integration of these additional networks into the existing GFE infrastructure.
GFE will continue to work with The Missing Link on continuing development projects – particularly the networking and rollout of a national standard operating environment.
